While Dr. Brisman specializes in the treatment of eating disorders, she is well known for her clinical work, writing and training as an Interpersonal Psychoanalyst. Dr. Brisman devotes half her practice to working with individuals and couples who are not eating disordered. Also, many of her patients are no longer focused on food but want to explore and change challenges having to do with relationships, work or family.
Dr. Brisman was trained at the William Alanson White Institute of Psychiatry, Psychoanalysis & Psychology in New York City, and with all patients, Dr. Brisman is informed by an Interpersonal perspective to psychological issues. She works to allow for meaningful and signficant change in all aspects of her patients’ lives.
